Moderating the glitch is a story about how 300 trans nipples glitched out Instagram's content moderation systems, and what that says about large-scale content moderation as a whole.
The talk is centered around the story of the in transitu project. It starts out by recounting how the project came to life, and then takes the viewer through all the censorship that has been placed on my nipples over the years. The project has experienced several twists and turns during its lifespan, all of which are presented in the talk.
At the end of the talk, my experiences with this nonsensical and glitchy nipple censorship system are taken to a higher level and asks the question: "If they can't moderate nipples reliably, what else are they not capable of moderating?"
